The Wardlaw + Hartridge girls’ basketball program is back in full swing and the team looks forward to a bright season ahead! With plenty of new faces this year, it is evident that the Rams are not lacking in talent nor energy.

Returning player Rajwans Sindhar ‘25 said, “I think this year we are more prepared for the season. Last year, we had seven players most days and this year we’ve had at least 12 people showing up consistently.”

Kayla Martel ‘24, a returning guard, has similar views: “This is the best turnout we’ve had in years and the season is looking promising, so I’m excited to see what the new team can do.”

With the depth of the lineup this season, the team looks to understand the different strengths and weaknesses of each player to develop an effective playing style. With new faces comes the challenge of team chemistry, but it seems that the Rams are already embracing the new team and bonding through positive reinforcement and encouragement.

“A lot of us have complicated schedules outside of school, which is why utilizing practice time as dual bonding time is very important. I believe encouragement is the best way to take this team to the next level,” Martel said.

It will be exciting to see how the Rams develop their chemistry over the upcoming weeks and how they can incorporate their diversified roster into more intricate aspects of the game over time. The girls’ first chance to demonstrate their hard work and talent will be on December 16 vs. Woodbridge Academy Magnet School.
