Recently, members of the W+H varsity cheerleading team have paired up with members of the Middle School cheer team. The younger athletes joined with varsity team members at Wardlaw+Hartridge’s annual Winter Games. The girls cheered together between quarters and throughout the two basketball games from the bleachers. Both teams were working together on encouraging their fellow Rams.

Not long after, each varsity cheerleader was assigned a middle schooler to “adopt” into their cheer family. This new tradition has brought the two teams closer together and strengthened the W+H cheerleading program overall.

In other news, the varsity competition team is hard at work gearing up for their first competition which is coming up this Saturday, February 4. The girls have almost perfected their routine and are currently working on finishing touches.

Wednesday, February 1 is also the varsity cheer team’s Senior Night! It will be a very special night to honor the graduating seniors, some of whom have been on the team for four years. The seniors in the 2022-2023 season are Sydney Racine ‘23, Cherice Clarke ‘23, Nandini Shah ‘23, Anna Lee ‘23, and Sreeprada Arumilli ‘23.

These five seniors will be in the spotlight for the night and will receive surprises from their fellow teammates. This game will be invigorating to watch as the team has been working together to prepare fun and engaging cheers and stunts for the night.
